Instrument Test Drive
I am sure you and your child have many questions about playing an instrument, about being in band, etc. So that I may answer those questions for you, I require all new band students and their parents to schedule an Instrument Test-Drive Class, which is a small meetings with you, your child and me. At these consultations, I explain many details about the first year of band and your child may try-out all available instruments in an effort to find the best-suited choice based on physical and optimal attributes. These consultations are limited to 4 families per session and take approx. 45-60 min.
Students and parents are encouraged to familiarize yourself with the different instruments in the band program shown below.
NOTE: All new band students are required to have an instrument testing consultation before an instrument may be selected. Some instrument choices are limited for beginning band, so be sure to schedule your consultation as soon as possible.
Some students may be tested on some instruments during class within the first week of school to help expedite some selections prior to this meeting. I truly look forward to meeting you and working with your child. Welcome to the family !
